Nichole first reached out to me in April to get details for a Fresh 48 session. Her first baby was due in May and she was new to all this photography stuff, and not to mention baby stuff. First time parents have their very own challenge to face, the fear of not knowing what to expect. But, I like to say that after the first one, it’s a breeze. At least that is true coming from a momma of 4 🙂 A few details later we were locked in and patiently waiting on baby’s arrival.
The next few weeks went by, and Nichole was so good about keeping me in the loop with updates on her pregnancy and possible due date. As a Fresh 48 photographer, it is nice to have that open communication, since I am practically on-call for these types of sessions.
As Nichole’s due date approached and baby was not showing any signs of coming soon, they planned to be induced either on her due date or the day after. Of course, baby wanted to come on her own terms and decided to grace the world the day before she was due. Skylar Meilani made her debut during the evening of May 17th at 7lbs, 14 oz, and 19inches. As expected, mom and dad were over the moon with joy when I arrived to capture their newborn.
Fresh 48 Sessions are not meant to be glitz and glammed, but rather to catch the unconditional love between mom, dad, and baby. I feel like these images from the hospital captured those first moments together perfectly. If you’re not into the whole hospital situation, we can always schedule a newborn shoot for your little one once you get situated at home.
